Susan graduated, Cum Laude, from Vincennes University in 1989 with an Associate’s Degree in Paralegal/Legal Assistant. She then attended Ball State University and in 1991 received a Bachelor’s Degree in Legal Administration. Susan is a former member of the Paralegal/Legal Assistant Advisory Committee at Vincennes University.

Prior to becoming a Legal Assistant with the firm, Susan worked as an administrative assistant in the Trust Department at Dubois County Bank in Jasper. Susan joined the firm in the fall of 1993. She works mainly in the area of estate planning and trust and estate administration but also assists with real estate, business organizations, guardianships and mediations. In the estate planning area Susan oversees the preparation of documents, meets with clients to execute those documents as well as assists clients in asset transfers. She also monitors the estate planning documents that are executed in the office. In the area of probate and estate administration, Susan meets with clients to assist in the process from beginning to end including the collection and distribution of assets. She assists the lawyers in the preparation of documents and files those documents with the court. She meets with clients in the process of becoming guardians to protected persons and filing required reports to the court. She also assists in the preparation of federal estate tax returns and fiduciary income tax returns. She assists in the preparation of documents for real estate transactions and business organizations. She meets with clients to carry out those transactions and also records and files the documents necessary to finalize transactions with county, state and Federal governments.
